Mariners Mirror supports - SDYC Junior Sailing Progam

Mariner's Mirror has donated a few items to help raise money for the SDYC - Junior Sailing Program.  We are more than happy to help support the next generation of the boating community!  Nicole and I couldn't imagine our younger days without boating being a part of it.  There wasn't a day that went by as kids that we were not out exploring on our 12' fiberglass skiff "the river rat"  powered by an extremely old 3hp Evinrude engine.

Itching for Summer

With 4 days left in March and the taste of 78 degree weather we had in Boston last week, the summer itch seems to come on stronger every year.  As I was freezing walking to work, in my heavy toggle coat and wet hair, all I could think about was how warm summer boat rides are going to be, wet hair and all! I honestly think my flip flops have been slowly inching out from the storage bin under my bed.  The next thing I know I’ll be tossing them off in the sand and digging my toes in at waters edge.  My sunglasses are hopefully getting prepared as well; dusting off the winter hibernation and excited for the rays of sunshine.  I mean the first day of spring was 7 days ago, let’s hurry up already!  Is it too early to start planning the 4th of July BBQ or maybe I can get away with a Memorial Day email?  The summer itch is contagious and I know one email could start an epidemic.  I’m feeling Slip’N Slides and Coronas!... Oh wait! Sunset cruises and margaritas!  At this point I may just start fishing in my bath tub tonight.

Waiting for the beach to open!!!

Cahoon Hollow Beach, Cape Cod

Wow! This place is awesome.

We took a little trip here just before the 4th.  Rented a "less than new" van and packed it with coolers, chairs, beach games, friends, and some bagels from Dunkin Donuts.  This is a serious recipe for a great day.  The best part about relaxing on this beach all day is, once you think you are ready to head home, there is the bar in the beach parking lot "THE BEACHCOMBER"!! It's genius.

What kind of drinks do they serve??

The favorite in our group was the Goombay Smash over 2.5 million sold - $7.00ea (I have absolutely no idea what it was made with)

Happy 4th!!

HAPPY 4th!!  This is definitely one of my favorite times of year.  It's a great opportunity to be with friends and family.  Cape Cod is always my favorite place to celebrate. Craigville Beach.
